Fragmentation Ratio Monitoring

1. Find out the Essbase Server machine.
2. Go to the following path                                                                  (Middleware_Home\EPMSystem11R1\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer\templates)
3. Double click the file startEsscmd.bat
4. In the command prompt, type the following commands

• Login
• Enter the Host Name
• Enter the User Name (Essbase Admin User)
• Enter the Password (Essbase Admin Password)
• Select "App_Name" "DB_Name" (For Selecting Specific App)
• getdbstats ( Esscmd For List Out The Status Of DB)
• Make a note on Average Clustering Ratio, Average Fragmentation Quotient, Free Space Recovery Is Needed, Estimated Bytes Of Recoverable Free Space

Note:

• If Free Space Recovery Is Needed value is "Yes" then we should do De-fragmentation.
• Average Clustering Ratio should be close to 1. If yes, then blocks are arranged in a order.
• For De-fragmentation Steps, kindly follow the document Fragmentation Notes saved in (D:\BI_Library\OPT)
