Java Error When Launching Essbase Administration Services (EAS) Console Via A Web Browser

CAUSE

This issue have been verified as unpublished Bug 14383294 - JAR RESOURCES IN JNLP FILE ARE NOT SIGNED BY THE SAME CERTIFICATE

SOLUTION

The issue has been fixed in the following patch:

Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition Release 11.1.2.1 Patch Set Update (PSU): 11.1.2.1.600 which can be downloaded from My Oracle Support Patch 14464109.

Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.1.600 (Patch 14464109) addresses the following defects:
  • 14554890 - Oracle Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.1.000 does not support Internet Explorer 9. Note: With this patch, Internet Explorer 9 is supported in compatibility view mode only.
  • 14383294 - After applying 11.1.2.1.102 Hyperion Business Rules patch, accessing Essbase Administration Web Console may not work.
If applying Planning Patch Set Update 11.1.2.1.600 is not an option at this time, the following steps may resolve the issue:
  1. Rollback the HBR patch (see the Readme on steps to rollback).
  2. Navigate to extracted Opatch folder that contains the HBR patch, i.e. C:\Patches\p14126387_111210_MSWIN-x86-64\14179017_hbr_win\14179017\etc\config.
  3. Backup the file 'actions' by copying to 'actions_original'.
  4. Open the file 'actions' using a text editor, i.e. Notepad.
  5. Remove the following from 'actions' file: class_name="\products\Essbase\eas\server\AppServer\InstallableApps\Common\eas.ear\easconsole.war\easclientplugin.jar"
  6. Save the changes.
  7. Re-apply the HBR Patch.

This should resolve the issue with accessing EAS over web and should also not impact any of HBR functionality.
